Cazenovia Public Library’s Archive Room, located on the ground floor, contains a wealth of information for people who are interested in the history of the Cazenovia area. Included in the Archives are family files, maps, and the Cazenovia newspapers on microfilm (including The Pilot beginning in 1808 and The Republican beginning in 1854). There are also cemetery records for Cazenovia and the surrounding townships. Books by local authors, local history files (including those on artists, Cazenovia Lake, and the Loomis Gang), and church records are just a small part of what is available.

If you are planning to visit, please call ahead (315.655.9322) so that we will be able to help you with your research needs because this room is not permanently staffed. You may also contact us by phone, email (Cazenovia@midyork.org – please put “Obituary Request” in the Subject Heading), or mail if you would like a photocopy of an obituary or article from the Cazenovia Republican. Please include as much information as possible with your request, including names and dates. See our Archive Information Request form.
