“A Consideration of Rollo May: the Father of Existential Psychotherapy” will be presented by Dr. Michael Holdren, Associate Professor of Psychology at Cazenovia College.

Rollo May’s synthesis of Freudian Psychoanalysis and Kierkegaardian Existentialism provides contemporary insight as we struggle with the anxieties and emptiness of an increasingly lost and lonely existence amid a sea of changing values and technologies.

As May noted, “technology is the knack of so arranging the world that we do not experience it.” So how can we shake the technology fatigue and malaise? In his lecture, Dr. Holdren will cover how Rollo May stresses the importance of slowing down and reconnecting with nature, ourselves and others.
