Join Madison County’s Office of the Aging for Bone Builders two mornings a week of light exercise in the Community Room. This program occurs every Wednesday and Friday mornings at 10 am (except for the first Wednesday of the month)
Bone builders is a research-based exercise program developed by Tufts University. This is an exercise and education program designed to prevent and help alleviate osteoporosis and improve general fitness. Each session consists of balance, strengthening, and stretching exercises. Some utilize hand or leg weights. Exercise groups are lead by RSVP volunteers, and supported by a trained RSVP staff member. The group exercise sessions, which last about one hour, are held once a week in a community setting. A typical group ranges from 8 to 18 participants age 50 and beyond. Men and women are welcome. Bone Builders sessions include valuable health information such as nutrition and exercise.
Current exercise sessions are free of charge. Equipment to begin the program is provided. Call the Madison County Office of the Aging with questions at (315)697-5700.
