The Cazenovia Public Library will present two free screenings of Won’t You Be My Neighbor? on Friday, September 7 at 1:00 pm and 6:30 pm in the Community Room. In the 2018 documentary, Academy Award-winning filmmaker Morgan Neville examines the life and legacy of Fred Rogers, the beloved host of the children’s TV show Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood.
Fred Rogers was a minister, puppeteer, writer, and producer. For over thirty years, he and his cast of puppets and friends spoke to young children about some of life’s heaviest issues, in a simple and direct manner. While the world transformed around him, Rogers was firm in his beliefs about the importance of protecting childhood. The film looks back on his legacy, focusing on his radically kind ideas.
The film is rated PG-13 and runs 94 minutes. Free popcorn provided. This event is sponsored by the Friends of the Cazenovia Public Library.
