Intimate Reflections
Alyson Markell and Jim Ridlon have worked on collaborative collage paintings for several years. Collage paintings are works constructed by employing small pieces of cut and torn papers derived from larger sheets of abstract painted and textured papers.
The papers are then applied to canvas much like brush work making the finished work come alive with color.
Past collaborative series have explored subject matter such as gardens, landscapes, horses, seascapes, and most recently, reflections.
This exhibition, titled “Intimate Reflections,” is comprised of small works exploring physical reflections on water, as well as insightful reflections of the heart and soul.
