Matilda Joslyn Gage

March 26, 2019 @ 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm

Abolitionist, suffragist, author and editor, Matilda Joslyn Gage (1826-1898) collaborated with Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Susan B. Anthony for over forty years to fulfill her vision of a society in which the abilities and talents of all human beings are honored and valued.  Together, the three women founded a national suffrage organization, co-authored the six-volume History of Woman Suffrage, and earned a nation-wide reputation as “The Triumvirate.”

At a time when an unprecedented number of women have been elected to the House of Representatives, Mrs. Gage is embarking on a tour of Central New York to share both her own experiences and her thoughts about the progress made by 21st-century women in the political arena.  Portrayed by a living historian, she will appear at the Cazenovia Public Library on March 26 at 7 PM.
