Conducted by Syracuse University Intern Carolyn Fragnoli, this workshop will focus on writing poems in the context of the romantic tradition. Nature was important to the romantics, so how can Cazenovia Lake and other natural surroundings inspire the poems written today?
To find the answer, attendees will review some basic poetic concepts that were important to the romantic poets and explore how to write poems as modern day romantics. And then, using poems by romantic poets and local poets in the Cazenovia area as models, all will see how such elements as nature, tranquility, and beauty inspire their own poetry writing.
