For over 120 years Cazenovia has been home to an ancient curiosity- Hen the Mummy. Slowly the mystery of who Hen was is being unwrapped thanks to today’s medicine and technology. Now Hen’s story is being told thanks to the efforts of Call of the Loon Productions, a documentary film company from Liverpool set to premiere in our Community Room on October 8th at 7 pm.
The twenty-minute film answers questions such as “Why does Cazenovia have a mummy” “What have we learned from Hen” and “What is Hen’s future” The talented crew were joined by staff members, Dr. Mark Levinsohn (Crouse Hospital), Daniel Warne (OCC & Syracuse’s Archaeological Institute of America) and Jason Emerson (historian and Cazenovia Republican Editor). Following the screening will be a short presentation by Dr. Mark Levinsohn with updates from Hen’s December testing and comments from the documentary filmmakers.
