Explorer Activity Kits
These projects are designed for children 5-10.
Kits will be distributed on the specified day. Kits will have names on them and be easily accessible at a no-contact location at the lower entrance to the library. These events require registration. Please fill out the registration form or call the Library at 315.655.9322. If you’re no longer able to or are not interested in a kit you’ve signed up for, please call the Library.
Slime (July 6th)
Time to get messy with science! With a few simple ingredients you can create your own slippery slime to play with at home.
Kit includes: white glue, liquid starch, glitter confetti, and slime recipe.
Rafts (July 13th)
Look no further for an excuse to visit a stream or lake. Let your creativity set sail by building your own raft. Learn about buoyancy as you explore some local waters.
Kit includes: wooden craft sticks, glue, items to personalize and decorate your sail, and instructions.
Victorian Birdcage (July 20th)
Have you visited our Fashion Takes Flight exhibit? Design your own colorful bird and build it a cage with this art craft. Make a delightful birdcage out of paper and glue then let your creativity give it life.
Kit includes: paper, glue, string, and instructions.
Bug Box (July 27th)
Get up close to your tiniest backyard neighbors by creating your own bug box. Perfect to collect critters on a walk or give them a cozy backyard resting place.
Kit includes: plastic canvas, yarn, plastic needle, and instructions
